We've been touting the south of France as a great growing region for amazing values and this is definitely top of the class. Altitudes is a great find from the Cotes de Roussillon region in southern France - A blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Carignan - the same blend found in many great Chateauneuf-du-Pape reds, which are from the region just north of Roussillon. This delicious red has a touch of earthy flavour, adding distinction to the pure fruit notes. Bright juicy fruits, with a well-integrated earthiness & a hint of smoke round out the complexities on the pallet. A wonderfully balanced, focused wine, bursting with character. A gorgeous food wine to pair with spiced lamb burgers or classic coq au vin.
